This is the easiest recipe I know for Chinese egg rolls…
What you’ll need:
1 pkg wonton wrap (found in produce section)
1 pkg of coleslaw mixture
1 lb ground pork
2 tsp 5-spice powder (cinnamon, ground cloves, garlic powder, salt, pepper)
1 lb Italian sausage, crumbled and cooked
1 egg white
Cook meat with spices. Steam coleslaw and combine with meat. Place a small amount in a wonton wrap. Seal with egg white. Fry in hot oil. Makes about 18.
Variation: use soy sauce in the meat to season.
Pre-packaged coleslaw makes it a whole lot easier! Also broccoli-slaw is good and a little different!
Cost:
wonton wraps - $3.00.
coleslaw mixture - $2.85
ground pork - $2.50
5-spice powder -$2.00
Italian sausage - $2.12/lb
Total - $10.67
